The camcorder mount was inexpensive and easy to
make. It allows a great view of what the driver sees
straight ahead because it is positioned far back. I used it to tape my lapping sessions at open track events with
car clubs.
I bought a new Silk tripod mount, eye screws and
bungee straps totaling less then 30 bucks. The rear straps are
hooked onto the rear seat hinges and the front strap is hooked onto an eye screw
mounted on the cup holder.
One thing missing is a safety strap for the
camcorder. Other then that, none of the instructors or track marshals
had a problem with the setup after they gave it a tug for rigidity.
