Dodge made it very easy to install a stereo into the Dakota pickups. There are a few things to pick up before getting started.
  1. Pigtail for the Wires in the Dash to Connect to Stereo.
  2. Dash Mounting Kit ( for stereo to mount on )
  3. 10mm Socket With Ratchet ( a wrench will do )
  4. Wire Strippers ( With Crimper )
  5. Phillips Head Screwdriver
  6. Wire But Connectors ( insert matching wires & crimp )
  7. Comfortable workspace

The mounting kit and pigtail are inexpensive. The kit is $15 and the pigtail is $12. For 27 bucks the job can be done right without any cutting of the dash, stock wires and will save the electrical warranty.
