'98 Dakota Y Pipe Exhaust Mod
I took my truck into Ballard Exhaust Specialties to rip out the old 1 1/2 diameter Y pipe and to put in a 2 1/1 diameter. pipe. Here are some pictures of the old and new pipe. The square cut out of the first image was the 02 sensor. Next time I will order the fitting that the sensor goes into so that it will be a clean and easier job. There was a great low end gain!

A bigger pipe can't be put in using the same bends. A new 2 1/2 dia exhaust was put in by bringing the Y back away from the cross-member. If this was not done, it would rub. |
